The Orpheus Institute - PTSD Children
Helping Children and Adolescents with PTSD all around the world
OUR TREATMENT
We all have a moral responsibility to safeguard the health & wellbeing of children around the world. We must stand up and embrace the causes impacting children. If nothing is done, the consequences on our safety and the global health and wealth of the world is going to be a major concern for everyone.
Traditional Treatment Traditionally treatment for PTSD has focused on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This therapeutic intervention involves the child or adolescent to directly discuss the traumatic event with reeducation of the trauma related thoughts, anxiety management with relaxation, and assertiveness training. This treatment does not work for everyone. The importance of emotions The prevalence of PTSD and the expression of trauma in refugee children and youth or due to war, conflict, disaster or dramatic personal experience differ among people due to cultural differences but what is observed despite our differences is the expression of emotions. Working on the emotional component is an important key to resolving trauma on a deep level. Our experience has shown us the importance of Carl G. Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious and the need of therapeutic interventions that facilitate the exploration of unconscious contents for healing emotional trauma. Treatment which allows a reconnection with the world of symbols and images has a powerful mobilizing function. It has the capacity to restore our psyche disrupted by trauma. Art as a powerful tool for healing children all around the world and in our countries Helping children to mobilize their own internal resources is ideal for successful emotional healing. To promote access to these emotions we offer an intervention with almost 40 years of empirical evidence demonstrating that drawing while listening to specific musical selections has a strong evocative effect. This treatment allows the children to unobtrusively explore traumatic emotions while healing themselves without the pain of reliving the traumatic event.
Impact of our Program on youth at risk…
"As an agency we offer substance abuse and mental health services in a continuum of service venues. Our breath is from outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential treatment modalities treating women, women with children, men and teens, or from the cradle to the grave. Our plan is to layer our counseling and therapy with CAP. After viewing first-hand the powerful impact it had with our sample youth group I was in awe of the depth at which CAP reached. What would of taken us anywhere from five or six months of talk therapy was reach in an hour with the youth, amazing! " — Debra Camarillo. As the Executive Director, she leads the Latino Commission.

Chantal Desmoulins — TEDx Limoges France OUR OFFER CAP methodology bypasses the re-enactment of the trauma in play. This process helps children discover hidden resources buried within their subconscious. Undoubtedly, the ability to access these resources builds self-esteem and self-confidence while fostering a new life after a trauma. We offer professionals from around the globe an outstanding course of training to help children and adolescents recover from terrible experiences that no human of our modern society should have to endure. We offer an E-learning platform that enables professionals in any country to train at their own pace. The training is an English. We can train individuals or groups. You are assigned a CAP Trainer who will follow you throughout the program. . When you start, you get a 2-hour, one-on-one, online interview with your CAP Trainer. They will explain the basics of the program and how the E-Learning platform works. The program includes 28 hours of training via the E-Learning platform. This allows you to work at your own pace and at the times that are convenient for you. The training is split into several modules with an evaluation upon completion of each unit. This allows you to fully integrate each step of the process before moving on. Feel free to ask your CAP trainer for answers to any questions or to clarify any doubts you may have about the process. Once the online E-Learning sessions have been completed, you will have another 2-hour, one-on-one interview with your CAP trainer to help you set up your own workshops. Tell us how many artwork kits you need for your workshop. The material will be shipped directly to your center. For an easy set up of the sessions, you have access to the music as well as all documents needed. Our team provides unlimited email support as you implement your CAP sessions. Feel free to ask our team of professionals for more detailed final reports. This E-training provides a comprehensive, well organized, step by step methodology that is easy to implement in any environment. PARTNERSHIP To enable children around the world and in our countries to benefit from this program we offer partnerships with non-profit organizations dedicated to restoring emotional and mental wellbeing to children devastated by war or who has experienced a catastrophic event, or violence of all kind, as well as Companies, whether large or small, who could help transform the lives of PTSD children and their families.
