Privacy Policy Effective: September 2019 Welcome! Thank you for visiting our website. This Privacy Notice describes the ways in which your privacy is protected when you access, interact with, and use this website. Overview We at The Orpheus Institute respect your privacy. This is our priority. This Privacy Notice describes the personal information we collect about you, why we collect it, and how we use it. We primarily collect user information in an effort to improve your experience and communicate with you about our products and services. This Privacy Notice describes the choices you can make about how we collect and use your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. With respect to the collection of your information, if you do not want your personal information collected, please do not submit it to us. If you have already submitted information and would like to review, correct, or remove it from our records, please contact us via top@theorpheusinstitute.org. By visiting and using the Website, you are deemed to have agreed to the provisions of this Privacy Notice. 1. What kind of information does The Orpheus Institute collect? 1a— Collection of Personal Information. We collect different personal information from you depending on how you want to engage with us. We also automatically collect non-identifiable data through The Orpheus Institute website (the “Site”) (such as IP addresses, browser characteristics, device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, information on actions taken on our website, and dates and times of website visits). 1b— Definition of Personal Information. At The Orpheus Institute we are committed to ensuring our Users’ privacy and peace of mind. We do not collect any Personal Information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. For purposes of the Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online. We divide all of this into direct and indirect personal information, as discussed below. 1c— Direct Personal Information. We gather your Personal Information when you purchase products or services or register to attend an event by providing us with information such as (by way of an example) your name, email, address, and payment information. Additionally, we gather your Personal Information when you sign up for a newsletter or promotional e-mails, or when you place a request for customer service by using the “Contact” feature contained within the Site. In both of these examples, we require the collected information in order to fulfill your request for product or information. To the extent that we use this information beyond the immediate fulfillment of your request, we retain it so that we may contact you about new services, sales, and other promotional messages we think will interest you. Finally, your Personal Information is gathered by us when clicking on one (1) or more sponsored advertisements that we may now or hereafter provide for our Users to view while on the Site. You can always choose to opt-out of receiving promotional e-mail and electronic newsletter communications that we may send to visitors and customers from time to time (see the Section on Email Choice/Opt-out for more information). 1c— Direct Personal Information. Our Site automatically logs indirect Personal Information from visitors. We consider indirect Personal Information to be data that does not clearly identify you but under some circumstances could. This sort of anonymous and indirect information includes, but is not limited to, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, operating system or platform identification information, browser identification information, information about the Internet website(s) from which a visitor may have linked to our Site, visitor activity on the Site, and the dates and times of Site visits and purchases. We collect and retain this type of information through the use of cookies and other technologies, to assist us in operating and improving the Site. For example, the Site uses Google Analytics to measure web page views, performance, and such. However, to the extent that IP addresses or similar identifiers are considered Personal Information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as Personal Information. Similarly, to the extent that non-personal or indirect information is combined with Personal Information, we treat the combined information as Personal Information for the purposes of this Privacy Notice. We use Local Storage Objects (LSOs) such as HTML5 or Flash to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our site or to display advertising based upon your web browsing activity use LSOs such as HTML5 or Flash to collect and store information. Various browsers may offer their own management tools for removing HTML5 LSOs. 2. How does The Orpheus Institute use my information? We may use your Personal Information to send you emails, postal mail, or telephone (including text messages) regarding our services and promotions. From time to time, we may use this information to contact you via email, postal mail, or telephone to learn more about your User preferences. You always have the choice to unsubscribe and not to receive marketing information or calls. In addition, we may use information about you and your interests from us and our affiliates to help us improve our site design and your online experiences. We may contact you, subject to the choices you have made, via email, postal mail, or telephone, to conduct market research and learn more about how we can improve our service offerings. Unless otherwise specified herein, The Orpheus Institute will not independently transfer Personal Information to its partners for their own marketing purposes. Your decision to participate in a sponsored promotion is entirely voluntary, and any information you provide by participating, including Personal Information, is entirely at your own risk and discretion. Our Site offers publicly accessible blogs or community forums. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. It is strongly recommended that you carefully monitor the information that you choose to share when posting content under the “Comments” section of the Site. The Orpheus Institute does not regularly monitor such information and is under no obligation to do so. Note that any Personal Information that you post in any “Comments” section may become a permanent part of the public domain and have unintended consequences. We may display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on our Site in addition to other endorsements. With your consent we may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at top@theorpheusinstitute.org. 3. Does The Orpheus Institute share your information with third parties? Except in the limited circumstances set forth below, The Orpheus Institute will not sell, share, rent, lease or disclose Personal Information it collects to third parties. The Orpheus Institute may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your Personal Information except to provide these services to The Orpheus Institute, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. The Orpheus Institute may disclose your Personal Information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on The Orpheus Institute or the Site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of The Orpheus Institute; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of The Orpheus Institute, or the public. Social Media. Our Site may include social media features, such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter buttons. These features may also collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. These features may also give you the option to post information about your activities on our Site to your profile page to share with others within your social network. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy notice of the company providing them. 4. Email Communications Email Choice/Opt-out. From time to time, The Orpheus Institute may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from The Orpheus Institute, you may opt out of such communications by clicking on the UNSUBSCRIBE button. Notwithstanding your indicated email marketing preferences, we may send you administrative emails regarding The Orpheus Institute, including, for example, order confirmations and notices of updates to our Privacy Notice or the Terms of Use if we choose to provide such notices to you in this manner. 5. How does The Orpheus Institute protect kids' privacy? The Orpheus Institute does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website. 6. Is my information secure? The Orpheus Institute takes precautions to ensure that our visitors’ Personal Information is secured. Our Site may contain links to other Sites, including to our marketing partners. We do not control the privacy promises or practices of these websites. The Orpheus Institute is not responsible for the content or practices of any linked websites, and we provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors. 8. Visiting our Site from outside the United States We store and process all Personal Information for The Orpheus Institute within the European Union. If you are visiting our Site from outside the European Union please be aware that your information will typically be transferred to, stored, and processed in the European Union where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the European Union might not be as comprehensive as those in the United States. Please be assured that we seek to take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is protected. By using our services, you understand that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Notice. Furthermore, with respect to any Personal Information originating outside the European Union, we will retain such information until we determine that you are no longer active within our system. 9.
